MARRAKECH, ONE OF THE MOST stunningly vivid cities of morocco + DESERT STONE CAMP IN THE AGAFAY DESERT, will be the backdrop for this 7 DAY WOMEN-only photography retreat. during this intimate gathering, our time will be spent in self-exploration, discussion, demonstration + hands-on learning, as well as pushing each attendee to find her own voice through the lens of her camera — creating a space of rich connection + growth within your photography. there will be deluxe accommodations, amazing moroccan food + drink, vibrant colors, all the sights, sounds + smells of the famous souk in marrakech while the agafay desert will draw you in + delight your very soul while we sleep in luxurious white tents under the desert’s starry night sky. a sunset camel ride + after dinner camp fire will be the finishing touches on this local excursion just outside of marrakech. THE BEAUTIFULLY COLORED CULTURE OF morocco + the mystique of the desert both have a very special place in my heart + i am certain that you will fall in love with them as well.
where?
marrakech, also known as the “red city” of morocco, is our first stop on this finding wonder journey. there, we will be staying in a small, but elegant riad just inside the walls of the old city — this riad, complete with plunge pool, rooftop sundeck + hammam spa, will be our quiet respite from the bustle + sounds of the medina. marrakech will offer us an abundance of photo opportunities that will overwhelm + excite all at once as we will wander the souks + THE celebrated djemma el-fna in search of the perfect story-telling moments. i promise, we will not have to look very far as the delights of this city are literally everywhere! after spending 4 nights in the magical city of marrakech, we will journey by private bus to the agafay desert, just 45 minutes from marrakech. with the high atlas mountains as our backdrop, we will be plunged into the serenity + alchemy which awaits us at scarabeo camp — a luxuriously rich desert camp. there, we will enjoy afternoon lunch, an amazing landscape with more opportunities than you can imagine to tell your story through photographs, prepared dinner + a sunset camel ride sure to ignite the wanderer in YOU. after this unforgettable night we will return to marrakech for one final evening to exchange all our best stories from our wonder-filled experience together. each of these incredible locations will offer us an amazingly rich cultural experience as well as stunning visual opportunities for capturing within our camera. in addition to photographing all that is available to us, we will take time to shop in the souks, savor the amazing + intense flavors of moroccan cuisine and tour some of the oldest + most beautiful pieces of architecture in the world. there will also be time to enjoy a traditional hammam + massage if you wish or arrange to do some shopping in the souks with a local guide. this is the adventure of a lifetime — one that fills my dreams still…

how much?
this intimate, photography retreat is 7 days full of photography - focused content (including the finding wonder + artful storytelling guide), relaxation, exploration + celebration, FOR A TOTAL OF 7 WOMEN MAXIMUM; 6 nights accommodations (including traditional moroccan breakfast each morning) welcome dinner, admission to the lovely jardine majorelle, private bus transportation to + from desert stone camp complete with lunch, dinner + breakfast. $2950.00* (usd)
your reservation can be paid in two installments. an initial deposit of $1450 is due within 2 days of your application acceptance. second and final installment of $1500 is due 60 days prior to retreat start date for a total of $2950.00*. the first deposit of $1450 is non-refundable, but may be transferred to another attendee with permission. *does not include airfare nor transportation to + from the airport to riad/hotel, spa day or shopping with local guide, meals other than stated, personal spending, nor any taxes or tips for services. i highly recommend that you allocate extra cash each day for any tips, etc. for services rendered (i.e. camel ride, bus driver, massage, etc.)
additional details + suggestions:
we welcome any woman who is ready to experience a different perspective on how she sees + experiences the world around her. it is up to each attendee (you) to determine how you would like to capture that WONDER. you may bring any camera you choose + are comfortable with, (i.e. dslr, point + shoot, iPhone, etc.) with knowledge on how it works as we will not be spending any time covering mechanics or technical questions.
each attendee will have her own accommodations/room while in marrakech. in the agafay desert, we will be sleeping in tents, each with three beds. each attendee will have her own bed. the weather in marrakech this time of year is perfect — hovering around the mid 70’s. the desert might be a bit cooler at night.
your personal travel to and from home to marrakech is up to you. i am happy to make suggestions on airports. it is strongly encouraged that you purchase travel insurance for this retreat. you can find this through an independent company and i am happy to suggest one if needed or you can book through your own
travel agent.
